1001 Nights...

Well, well... What do you do during grey rainy winter mondays?...
I dream through rainy winter mondays... And look through thousands of pictures which I promised to select and send to my friends and clients.

I found this photo today: a dearest friend and a great client (she has a talent of creating the right mood and image + natural beauty does make it easier for a photographer...:-) is looking playful and noble at the same time... Olga always (even if we are sitting in her kitchen drinking tea) makes me think about Scheherazade...

Don't you agree?

Warm monday evening, everybody.

About Time

After my two-week travel marathon I had finally a calm evening yesterday, and was invited to a comfy sofa to watch a movie. As it happens the movie was too about travel, time travel to be precise. Frankly, I was prepared to watch a light and maybe slightly cheesy film (time travel bit made me suspicious...) , although "About Time" took me completely by surprise.

The feeling of flawlessness comes from the first minutes of Richard Curtis's movie, making even the time travel thing look completely natural. Great cast on the first place: Charming Rachel McAdams,  unassuming and elegant Domhnall Gleeson (he was also a discovery of this evening) , and of course my all time  favorite brilliant Bill Nighy, made this story very human and realistic.

The soundtrack is perfect.

The message is simple yet it makes you think: "I've tried to live every day as it it was the final day of the extraordinary ordinary life". Highly recommended :-)

Speaking of time, it's been a while since I posted something of my work... Here is the last painting of 2013:

Have a nice weekend.

Happy 2014! (or 2014 thought my mobile phone camera)

God knows how much I wanted to wish you a happy new year in advance and how much is to be told: books, paintings, dramas, movies... but I had absolutely no time in the past two weeks. I must also admit to have slept through the New Years' Eve.

Pictures will explain: almost all of them are taken very early in the morning, but considering the world economic crises having a job is a good thing, right? Especially if the job consists of visiting beautiful cities...

Lausanne

Visiting a tomb of Gabrielle (Coco) Chanel in Bois-de-Vaux cemetery in Lausanne, I passed a modest tombstone with an inscription:

"Corinthians 13:13

And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love".

So that's all I want to wish you for  the 2014.

Love,
AB
